It's finally time to play again! We're happy to announce that we'll be hosting the Playing For Kicks tournament again this year on Saturday June 4th 2022. This year is going to be special for many reasons – we get to bring you all together after 2 long years, we've got space for more beginners teams to participate and for the first time we'll have a full Junior tournament.
The tournament is being run in partnership with the adidas football collective and by our friends The Goalposts League.
Back in 2016 we held our first Playing For Kicks tournament in an attempt to create an event after our own hearts: competitive, inclusive, social and with good music. We’ve learnt a lot over the years, and have been thrilled to see a huge rise in new women's teams being formed alongside a vast amount of individual enthusiasts.
Playing for Kicks aims to provide the much needed space to celebrate and connect the grassroots community in all its forms. We believe football should be accessible to everyone, across all ages, playing abilities, gender identity & expression, race, ethnicity & religion.
We cannot WAIT to finally bring the UKs women, trans and non-binary grassroots teams and their supporters together for a full day of football, music and friendship. So mark your calendar and come on down to Trent Park on June 4th 2022.
As ever, we're committed to creating an inclusive tournament environment, and will be asking everyone to adhere to our code of conduct. If you have accessibility needs, or questions or concerns – please get in touch on playingforkicks@gmail.com
